According to the Vietnam Association of Seafood Exporters and Producers, as of July 15, 2022, Vietnam's crab exports reached over 111 million USD, a year-on-year increase of 41%.

Specifically, as of July 15, Vietnam’s crab exports to China reached 37 million USD, up 76% over the same period last year. Crab exports to China continued to grow well in the second quarter of 2022, but the growth rate slowed down. China is Vietnam’s second largest crab export market after the US.

During the period, exports of the commodity to the US reached over 38 million USD, up 27% over the same period last year. Like the Chinese market, Vietnam's crab exports to the US also grew well in the second quarter of 2022, although there was a reversal in the middle of the quarter. The United States has fully reopened, helping push up demand for crabs.

Crab exports to Japan totalled 24 million USD, up 51% year on year. Japan is still the largest importer of Vietnam’s crabs in the CPTPP market, and is also the country that maintains continuous growth of crab imports in the first half of 2022. Meanwhile, crab exports to Canada and Australia are not stable, and tend to decrease.

In the EU, Vietnam’s crab exports enjoyed sharp growth in April and June. France continues to be the largest import market, worth over 3 million, an increase of 60%. Along with France, Vietnam's crab exports to Belgium and the Netherlands also grew sharply./.
