The northern city of Hai Phong has held a meeting to praise international businesses and organizations for their contributions to the city’s development.
In 2022, although the epidemic situation was still complicated, affecting production and business, enterprises in Hai Phong still developed and grew, contributing to turning Hai Phong into one of the localities with the highest growth rates in the country.

Total investment capital in industrial parks and economic zones in Hai Phong reached 3.2 billion USD; in which, foreign investment capital (FDI) attraction was nearly 2.5 billion USD; and revenue of enterprises in industrial parks and economic zones posted 26.7 billion USD and contributed 16,131 billion VND to the budget.
Some businesses have made contributions to the state budget and are active in the city’s social security movements, such as: Vinfast Automobile Factory, LG Display Co., Ltd., Hoang Huy Group, Van Huong Joint Stock Company, Chinfon Cement Company, and Hai Phong Cement Company.
In his speech at the conference, Chairman of the Hai Phong People’s Committee Nguyen Van Tung said that although Hai Phong achieved high growth in 2022, some economic indicators such as GRDP growth and index of industrial production (IIP) have not achieved as expected.
The Chairman wishes that in the coming time, businesses will continue to make positive contributions to the development of Hai Phong, and at the same time inform businesses of some major policies of the city.
On the occasion, Mr. Tung presented certificates of merit to 50 typical international businesses and 2 organizations for their practical contributions to the city’s development./.
