SHTP is now considered the most effective technology park among the three national ones. So far, SHTP has made great contribution to attracting hi-tech investment in hi-tech production of Ho Chi Minh City in particular and the country in general.
Currently, SHTP has a fairly synchronously developed science and technology foundation, creating hi-tech products in semiconductor, nano, biology, pharmaceutical, digital transformation platforms in various fields and intelligence artificial (AI). So far, SHTP has had 160 valid projects with a total investment of more than 12 billion USD.
This year, SHTP expects to achieve an export turnover of 23 billion USD, making an important contribution to realizing the goal of economic restructuring and improving the quality of growth in the direction of hi-tech industry. SHTP’s labor productivity is 6.6 times higher than the city’s average productivity and 16.6 times higher than the whole country.
With impressive investment attraction results, SHTP has reached the international brand level, becoming a reliable destination for hi-tech investment nationwide. More than ten leading technology corporations in the world have invested in SHTP such as Intel, Jabil, Rockwell Automation (USA), Nidec, Nipro, NTT (Japan), Samsung (the Republic of Korea), Sonion (Denmark), Datalogic (Italy), and Sanofi (France).
Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Anh Thi, Head of the SHTP Management Board, said that SHTP has formed and developed a force of endogenous high-tech capabilities that can take on tasks from transfer, hi-tech application, R&D, training, hi-tech incubation, hi-tech enterprises to prodution of hi-tech products at SHTP.
SHTP is entering a new stage of development, focusing on developing endogenous capacity and breakthrough industries and fields with high spillover effects on the basis of exploiting industry ecosystems formed at SHTP; making full use of opportunities of the industrial revolution 4.0 on the basis of exploiting the strengths of human resource quality, scientific and technological potential and innovation.
Aiming to create a driving force for rapid and sustainable development, the city has increasingly invested in science and technology, focused on investing in modern infrastructure, materials and equipment for public science and technology units; built many strong scientific and technological models such as Center for Biotechnology, Center for Research and Development (SHTP), Center for Experimental Analysis Service, and Center for Innovative Startups in Ho Chi Minh City./.
