Industrial production in 10 months rises 9%

The index of industrial production (IIP) in October 2022 is estimated to increase by 3% from the previous month and rise by 6.3% over the same period last year, reported the General Statistics Office (GSO).

In the first 10 months of 2022, IIP is estimated to soar by 9% over the same period last year.

Of which, manufacturing rose by 9.6% (higher than the growth rate of 5.1% of the same period last year); electricity production and distribution went up by 7.8%; mining and quarrying surged by 5%; and water supply, waste and wastewater management, and treatment peaked up 6.6%.

Notably, the industrial production index in the 10 months increased in 61 localities and decreased in 2 localities, being Tra Vinh ( 25%) and Ha Tinh (15.6%).

The number of employees working in industrial enterprises as of October 1, 2022 was up 0.8% over the same period last month and rose by 10.2% over the same period last year.

According to the statistics agency, in October, the whole country had more than 13,000 newly established enterprises, and 3,900 enterprises returned to operation. However, in the opposite direction, there were 4,058 enterprises registered to suspend business for a definite time, 4,200 enterprises stopped operating to wait for dissolution procedures and 1,602 enterprises completed dissolution procedures.

In the 10 months, the whole country had 178,500 enterprises registered for establishment and returning to operation. The number of enterprises withdrawing from the market was 122,100./.
