Nearly 9 trillion VND disbursed for economic recovery

(CPV) - As of June 30, Vietnam Bank for Social Policies (VBSP) disbursed 8.896 trillion VND in preferential loans under the Socio-Economic Development and Recovery Program for more than 213,000 customers, said Mr. Duong Quyet Thang, VBSP General Director, in a recent meeting.

The peferencial loans include 6.832 trillion VND to support job creation for 142,359 customers; 654 billion VND to help students buy computers and equipment for online learning; 1.259 trillion VND to assist workers to buy and rent social housing, build or renovate and repair houses according to Decree 100/2015/ND-CP of the Government; and 151 billion VND to support non-public preschool and primary education institutions affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Mr. Duong Quyet Thang said that the VBSP has actively coordinated with relevant agencies to timely deploy loans to employers to pay wages to employees.

As of March 31, 63 provincial and municipal branches disbursed 4.787 trillion VND to 1,548 employers to pay salaries for more than 1.2 million workers.

The latest update from VBSP shows that as of June 30, the total policy credit capital reached 286.169 trillion VND, an increase of 29.844 trillion VND, equivalent to an increase of 11.6% compared to 2021.

Total outstanding loans of policy credit reached VND 273.541 trillion, an increase of VND 25.384 trillion, equivalent to an increase of 10.2% compared to 2021 with more than 6.4 million poor households, near-poor households and other policy beneficiaries.

Social policy credit capital has supported production and business investment capital, created jobs for nearly 495,900 employees, helped more than 3,100 workers work abroad for a definite time; and assisted more than 12,800 students in difficult circumstances to get loans for their studies./.
