Over the past 20 years, social policy credits have reached to all quarters, hamlets and people’s groups across the city, accompanying the poor and policy beneficiaries, contributing to the development of manufacturing industries, restructuring crops and livestock, and creating jobs for workers.

Thereby, nearly 1 million poor households and policy beneficiaries received loans from the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies; lending revenue reached 21,486 billion VND and debt collection revenue reached 13,905 billion VND.

The credits contributed to helping nearly 276,000 households overcome the poverty line, creating and maintaining jobs for 321,700 workers, helped more than 117,700 students in difficult circumstances get loans for study, and built and renovated over 320,700 clean water and sanitation works in 5 suburban districts.

According to the City People’s Committee, the preferential credit policy along with socio-economic development programs in the city have actively contributed to poverty reduction, job creation, social security assurance, and construction of new countryside in the southern city./.
