Da Nang ranks first in environmental protection results

The set of indicators for assessing environmental protection results of provinces and centrally run cities are all indicators given for the purpose of evaluating the results of the implementation of objectives and tasks on environmental protection and the assessment of the level of people's satisfaction with the quality of the living environment.

It also evaluates the effectiveness and efficiency of the state management of environmental protection; raises awareness, sense of responsibility; and encourages efforts of state management agencies and people in environmental protection.

The PEPI index is structured into two groups: Evaluation of the results of the implementation of goals and tasks on environmental protection and Evaluation of people’s satisfaction with the quality of the living environment. There are 27 component indexes to evaluate the PEPI index.

The total score of the PEPI index of Da Nang city is 79.82 points, topping the list of 63 provinces and cities nationwide. Following is Ba Ria Vessel region with 78.79 points, third is Tra Vinh with 77.52 points. The lowest total score of the PEPI index is Dak Nong province with 51.30 points

Based on the results of the implementation of the set of indicators for assessing environmental protection results in 2021, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment requested the chairmen of the People’s Committees of the provinces and centrally-run cities to thoroughly organize and take measures to promote the environment, improve the efficiency of environmental protection, and improve the results of the implementation of the Indicators for the evaluation of environmental protection results for the following years./.
