HCM City strives to reduce poverty rate by 0.38% in 2023

(CPV) - In 2023, Ho Chi Minh City strives to reduce the household poverty rate by 0.38% and the rate of households near poverty by 0.28% according to the city's multidimensional poverty line in the 2021-2025 period.

The Ho Chi Minh City People’s Committee has issued a plan to implement the Sustainable Poverty Reduction Program in 2023.

The plan aims to implement social security policies and solutions to support poverty reduction in the Sustainable Poverty Reduction Program with the aim of reducing the rate of poor and near-poor households, fulfilling the goal of the city’s Sustainable Poverty Reduction Program in 2023.

The plan is considered a basis for assessing the results of the implementation of the Sustainable Poverty Reduction Program in 2021 - 2025; contributing to the goal of preventing and controlling the COVID-19 epidemic, other diseases and socio-economic development in the city.

The southern city has proposed programs, policies and solutions to support poor households, near-poor households and households recently surpassing the near-poor standard, to contribute to supporting households to improve and increase income, and reduce poverty./.
