Ho Chi Minh City in need of 136,000 - 150,000 jobs

From now until the end of the year, Ho Chi Minh City needs from 136,000 to 150,000 jobs, the City Human Resources Forecast and Labour Market Information (Falmi) Centre reported on July 21.

In which, the demand for human resources is concentrated in the field of trade - service (accounting for 65.41% of the total demand), industry - construction (accounting for 33.63%) and agriculture, forestry and fishery (accounting for 0.96% of the total demand).

According to Falmi, with the rapid change of the digital economy, most jobs require technological knowledge and high skills. Therefore, employees need to actively equip themselves with knowledge, constantly learn and improve the necessary qualifications and skills, to meet the increasing demands of the labour market.

Statistics from Falmi said that in the first 6 months of 2022, Ho Chi Minh City's human resource demand is mainly concentrated in the service-commercial sector with more than 114,000 jobs, accounting for 77.18% of the total human demand; industry - construction with more than 33,000 jobs, accounting for more than 22.76% and agriculture, forestry and fishery with 89 jobs, accounting for 0.06%.

Most businesses pay workers from VND5-10 million per month in positions such as garment workers, purchasing staff, office workers, accountants and electrical technicians./.
