According to the Ministry of Health, the campaign to vaccinate children aged 12-17 against COVID-19 was officially launched since the beginning of November 2021 across the country. It is expected that the campaign will vaccinate about 9 million children in this age group, expecting the use of 18 million doses.

As of November 28, nationwide, 34 of 63 provinces and cities administered the Pfizer vaccine against COVID-19 to children aged 12-17, with 3,512,874 injections performed. In which, the 1st injection was 2,828,743 doses and 2nd dose was 684,131 doses, accounting for 31.1% and 7.5%, respectively.

Up to now, Vietnam has implemented Pfizer vaccination for people aged 18 years and over, with a total of 17,214,268 injections, of which the 1st dose was 8,990,664 doses and the 2nd dose was 8,253,604 doses.

The Ministry of Health calls on the support, trust and active participation of parents and caregivers, in coordination with the health sector and schools, so that their children have the opportunity to be vaccinated against COVID-19 safely and in full doses. "Every child 12-17 years old who receives a safe and adequate dose of the COVID-19 vaccine will contribute to strong herd immunity, together with the whole country to safely and flexibly adapt to the new normal," the representative of the Ministry of Health emphasized./.
