More than VND700 billion to be spent supporting labourers during Tet

(CPV) - The Ho Chi Minh City Confederation of Labour has just said that during the 2022 Lunar New Year (Tet), the City's Trade Union plans to take care of Tet for its members and employees with an amount of more than VND700 billion, besides diverse programs and activities of great significance.

Addressing a press conference on January 4, Pham Chi Tam, Vice President of the City Confederation of Labour, said that trade unions join with employers to develop a plan to pay salaries, Tet bonuses for employees, and other benefits for employees during the Lunar New Year.

Diverse significant programs will also be held, including organizing Tet celebrations, giving free transport tickets, visiting businesses, innkeepers and workers with outstanding contributions in fighting COVID-19 pandemic, and giving presents to disadvantaged trade union members and their children.

The city trade union will also realize the city’s plan on caring for labourers during Tet. Accordingly, disadvantaged cadres and officials will be supported with VND300,000 each. As many as 987,000 trade union members and labourers will be assisted with VND296 billion.

Tran Doan Trung, Standing Vice President of the City Confederation of Labour, said that the confederation will continue to encourage businesses to join authorities in caring for labourers, ensuring that they will enjoy a warm and happy Tet.

It also calls on labourers to enjoy Tet strictly obeying regulations on COVID-19 prevention, traffic safety and prompt returning to work after Tet to ensure production./.
