The COVID-19 vaccine fund called on people to join and support the fund for purchasing, importing, researching and producing vaccines in the country and administering COVID-19 vaccines for people.
It is estimated that Vietnam needs 150 million doses of vaccine to vaccinate 75 million people, at a cost of some VND 25.2 trillion. After only a short time since its establishment, the fund has received a very enthusiastic response from domestic and foreign agencies, organizations and individuals.
Nguyen Quang Vinh, Deputy General Director of the Vietnam State Treasury and Director of the Management Board of the fund, said that while waiting for the negotiations to buy and import vaccines, in order to preserve and grow the source of the fund’s capital, temporarily idle capital of the fund will be deposited at the four largest commercial banks, including Vietcombank, VietinBank, Agribank and BIDV, through the form of bidding./.
