Mr. Ta Van Thao, Director of the Hanoi Employment Service Center, stated that
Hanoi has over 110,000 people with disabilities, of whom more than 7,700 are capable of working. Many individuals with disabilities have risen above their circumstances to become business owners, affirming their value and contributing to societal development.
"Providing appropriate employment support for PWDs helps them overcome challenges, integrate into society, and showcases the important role they play in the community. Over time, under the direction of the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs, the Hanoi Employment Service Center has regularly organized job fairs aimed at recruiting PWDs. These events encourage and support PWDs to learn and actively participate in the labor market," he added.
At the fair, 37 organizations and businesses offered 1,286 job and vocational training opportunities. Notably, 14 companies and vocational training centers that employ PWDs participated, with 516 positions available. This provided PWDs with an opportunity to engage with the labor market, boosting their confidence and enabling them to find suitable employment or vocational training to achieve a stable income.
Mr. Trinh Xuan Dung, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi Association of People with Disabilities, highlighted that this was the second such job fair of 2024, held in response to International Day of Persons with Disabilities on December 3. The theme for 2024 is "Enhancing the Leadership Role of People with Disabilities for an Inclusive and Sustainable Future."
Over the years, the Hanoi Association of People with Disabilities has partnered with the Hanoi Employment Service Center to organize job fairs focused on recruiting PWDs. These initiatives aim to support young people and working-age individuals with disabilities who seek stable employment. The fairs connect PWDs with businesses, provide accurate and reliable recruitment information, and educate them on relevant policies and laws, thus improving community awareness about the contributions of PWDs.
From the perspective of employers, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Truong, Director of S.Cool Production and Trading Co., Ltd., shared that the company is seeking to recruit four hearing-impaired employees to create handmade craft products./.
