In the south, Saigon Railway Transport Joint Stock Company will run more trains from Ho Chi Minh City to Quang Ngai and vice versa to provide nearly 3,900 more seats.
According to the Saigon Railway Transport Joint Stock Company, just 15 days after opening ticket sales for the Lunar New Year of the Cat, there are about 76,000 seats left. Specifically, there are about 22,000 seats left from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi (including about 16,000 main tickets and 6,000 extra seats), mainly train tickets from January 12 to 14 and from January 19 to 21, 2023, and more than 54,000 seats left from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City from January 22 to February 5, 2023.
The railway sector is applying many preferential policies to stimulate demand and support passengers such as: discounts for social policy beneficiaries, trade unions policy beneficiaries, customers with customer cards, 3% discount on ticket prices for passengers of trains departing at Saigon station on January 20, 2023 (lunar December 29) and traveling from 1,000km or more, 5% discount on return fare for round-trip ticket buyers, and especially, students will receive 20% discount on ticket price.
In order to ensure the interests of passengers in buying train tickets, the railway sector recommends that passengers do not buy tickets through intermediaries, but only buy tickets through website of the railway sector at https://vetau.com.vn or https://dsvn.vn, or buy directly at ticket gates of stations or at ticket agents of the Vietnam Railways, or buy through apps to avoid buying fake tickets, incorrect information or scraped and corrected tickets.
Passengers, when buying tickets and taking the train, need to bring a legally recognized identity document (the original one) and the information that matches the boarding pass./.
