Programs and textbooks for children with disabilities

The Ministry of Education and Training has just issued a plan to implement the National Action Program for Children in the 2021-2030 period of the education sector.

The plan sets a number of specific targets by 2030: Strive to have 100% of educational institutions have toilets for children; Increase the rate of 5-year-old children attending school to 99.3%; the rate of children completing primary school reaches 99%, striving to reduce the rate of children dropping out of lower secondary school below 0.05%; and 100% of educational institutions have psychological support services.

In the period of 2021-2030, the Ministry of Education and Training sets out five basic tasks: Strengthening the direction and guidance for the implementation of the targets; implement policies and solutions to reduce the number of children dropping out of school, especially children in ethnic minority and mountainous areas, children with disabilities and children in difficult circumstances; develop a system of child protection services, support children's psychology in schools, build a healthy, friendly and violence-free educational environment; increase movement activities for children; and strengthen facilities, equipment and materials for educational institutions.

One of the important tasks of the education sector from now to 2030 is to develop programs and textbooks for children with disabilities; and provide financial support for children under policies, children with disabilities and children in difficult circumstances.

In addition, the Ministry of Education and Training will also organize a review of the current status of clean running water and toilets in educational establishments, propose recommendations to the People's Committees of all levels in localities to increase resources to ensure that preschool, primary, and lower secondary schools    have adequate sanitation and clean water facilities; and focus on building infrastructure and teaching and learning materials suitable for children with disabilities.
