So confirmed Dr. Tran Doan Tien, Editor-in-Chief of Communist Party of Vietnam Online Newspaper, during the workshop "Developing potentials and resources for rapid and sustainable economic development".

During the workshop, Dr. Tien stated that the view of rapid and sustainable economic development has become a tendency applied in many countries around the world and Vietnam is not outside that common trajectory. After 37 years of conducting the doi moi (renewal) process, our Party's leadership perspective on rapid and sustainable economic development is still inherited, developed, and constantly supplemented and perfected through Party congresses.

He affirmed that, after nearly half of the term of implementing the Resolution of the 13th Party Congress, the whole country has overcome difficulties and challenges, achieved some initial and significant results, and contributed to the the common achievement of promoting economic growth, cultural and social development, ensuring national defense and security, and improving people's living standards.

The workshop was an opportunity to continue to exchange and evaluate the main contents in order to promote the leadership of the Party in the economic development of the country, thereby further raising awareness of the Party's role in directing and implementing the tasks of management, exploitation anduse of resources to promote rapid and sustainable socio-economic development.

During the workshop, experts discussed and proposed many solutions both in theory and in practice in order to promote the potential and resources for rapid and sustainable socio-economic development in the coming time. The contents of the discussion focused on current very important issues, including the theoretical basis for promoting the Party's leadership role in the country's economic development; the actual situation of the Party's leadership in the country's economic development; tasks and solutions to strengthen the Party's leadership in arousing and promoting the potentials and resources for rapid and sustainable socio-economic development, building a socialist-oriented market economy in Vietnam.

Speaking at the workshop, Deputy Head of the Party Central Committee Commission on Popularization and Education Phan Xuan Thuy affirmed that the concept of rapid and sustainable development was set forth early by the Party and State with increasingly complete content and has become a consistent policy in leadership, management and development of the country over the past decades. With the Party's thorough and unified view, together with the efforts of the whole political system, rapid and sustainable development in Vietnam has achieved important progress. However, besides that, there are still many shortcomings and challenges.

He recognized the comments focused on analyzing and clarifying Vietnam's economic achievements; our Party's view on rapid and sustainable economic development; solutions to improve the efficiency of using social resources to realize the aspiration to build a powerful country; rapid and sustainable development of the country from the perspective of the business community; the role of state-owned enterprises in implementing the great orientation of the Party, and developing and perfecting the institution of a socialist-oriented market economy. The discussion focused on analyzing, evaluating and clarifying the country's potentials and resources; pointing out opportunities for Vietnam to take advantage of opportunities and overcoming difficulties and challenges.

He expressed his wish that in the coming time, it will continue to receive comments from managers, experts, scientists, businesses, units and localities for the Party Central Committee Commission on Popularization and Education to continue to enhance dissemination on promoting the potential and resources for faster and more efficient economic development with better quality and efficiency, contributing to bringing the Party's resolutions to life./.
