Vietnam fosters special relationship with Laos

During the meeting, Ms Mai highly appreciated the activities of the Vietnamese Embassy in Laos, emphasizing that the Vietnamese Ambassador, officers and employees of the Embassy and relevant agencies have actively contributed and advised the leaders and departments on the development of policies and procedures for Vietnam's foreign affairs in Laos.

She affirmed that Vietnamese and Lao leaders always pay attention to and cultivate the special relationship between the two countries. This year is the Vietnam-Laos and Laos-Vietnam Friendship and Solidarity Year 2022 with two major activities, including the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations and the 45th anniversary of the signing of the Vietnam – Laos Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation. In each country's capital, important commemorative activities will be held, according to Ms Mai.

Announcing a number of key activities between the Communist Party of Vietnam and the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, including cooperation in theoretical exchange, in training and fostering leadership cadres, she said she believed that this is an important task in the current situation, contributing to promoting the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos.

She added that the two sides have successfully coordinated to organize many programs and training courses for leaders and managers of the political system of Laos.

On behalf of officials and employees of the Vietnamese Embassy in Laos, Vietnamese Ambassador to Laos Nguyen Ba Hung affirmed his determination to perform well the tasks assigned by senior leaders, together with the Embassy and the agencies, to foster the growing relationship between Vietnam and Laos./.
