In addition to the Moderna vaccine from Australia, Vietnam has received commitments on vaccine support of 2 million doses of Moderna from the Netherlands, and 2 million doses of Pfizer from France. These vaccines will arrive in Vietnam in April 2022.

Currently, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is continuing to coordinate with the Ministry of Health, and discuss with international organizations and partners on how to ensure the source of vaccines for children, contributing to completing the vaccination plan for children in the second quarter of 2022.

After 1 week of implementing COVID-19 vaccination for children from 5 to under 12 years old, as of April 21, the Ministry of Health said that 126,829 doses of vaccine had been administered to children in this age group across 28 provinces and cities, with no serious reactions.

According to statistics, there are about 11.8 million children nationwide from 5 to under 12 years old who are subject to the COVID-19 vaccine. Among them, it is estimated that up to now, about 8.2 million children have not been infected with COVID-19. The two injections for eligible children will be carried out by the health sector from now until the end of the second quarter of this year. This is one of the key tasks of the health sector in 2022./.
