Addressing the Indonesia Economy Outlook Forum on February 25, Widodo said the International Monetary Fund (IMF), World Bank, and Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) have forecast that Indonesia’s economy will grow by about 4-5 percent this year.
The key to the nation’s economic recovery lies in the capability of all sides to handle the pandemic, the President noted.
He believed that Indonesia's economic recovery would hinge largely on the disciplined application of health protocols, including wearing face mask, maintaining physical distance, and washing hands, as well as the implementation of the 3T policy of testing, tracing, and treatment.
According to him, Indonesia is among the leading countries in Asia to be conducting COVID-19 vaccination. The government has allotted about 372 trillion rupiah (26.5 billion USD) from the State budget to accelerate national economic recovery.
