International leaders to attend APEC summit 2017 in Vietnam

Foreign Ministry spokesperson Le Thi Thu Hang on October 12th answered questions from reporters on the visit by US President Donald Trump to Vietnam for attending the APEC summit 2017.

Accordingly, US President Donald Trump will visit Vietnam in November to attend the APEC Summit as part of a regional tour.

The six-day APEC Summit will open with other world leaders, including China’s Xi Jinping and Russia’s Vladimir Putin, expected to attend.

Established in 1989, APEC comprises 21 economies, including Australia, Brunei, Canada, Chile, China, Hong Kong (China), Indonesia, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Peru, the Philippines, Russia, Singapore, Chinese Taipei, Thailand, the US and Vietnam.

Vietnam joined APEC in 1998, and hosted APEC in 2006.

The preparations have been made to welcome leaders and delegations from the 21 APEC member economies, along with nearly 10,000 other delegates, international journalists and world-leading entrepreneurs.

The APEC Economic Leaders’ Week will be held from November 6th-11th in Da Nang./.
