Vietnam’s lacquer paintings and photos on display in Australia

Ten lacquer paintings and 70 artworks on Vietnam’s heritage, country and people are on display at an exhibition in Melbourne, Australia, from December 14th to 18th as part of activities to celebrate the 45th anniversary of Australia - Vietnam diplomatic relations.

The event is being organised by the Vietnamese Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in cooperation with the Embassy of Vietnam and the Vietnam Business Association in Australia. The event attracted a crowd of Vietnamese overseas in Australia, locals and tourists. 

The ten lacquer paintings are by Tran Van Can, Nguyen Sang, Nguyen Tu Nghiem and Phan Ke An, who are big names among Vietnamese artists, and photos featuring intangible cultural heritages winning prizes in the country. 

Artworks reflect the cultural heritage of Vietnam recognized by UNESCO as World Cultural Heritage, such as the complex of vestiges of Hue ancient capital, Ha Long bay, My Son towers, Hoi An ancient town, Phong Nha - Ke Bang National Park, Hue royal music and Ca Tru singing.

The exhibition brings to the public the love of Vietnamese art as well as international friends the knowledge of lacquer art and contributes to the promotion of culture, tourism, the image of the country and the people of Vietnam./.
