Vietnam bags four medals at 28th International Olympiad in Informatics

(CPV) - All four Vietnamese students participating at the 28th International Olympiad in Informatics in Kazan (Russian Federation) have won medals.

The information was revealed by the Agency of Testing and Education Administrators under Vietnam’s Ministry of Education and Training on August 19th.

Taking place from August 12th-19th, with the participation of 308 competitors from 81 nations and territories, the Vietnamese delegation successfully pocketed two gold medals, one silver medal and one bronze medal.

The gold medals went to Phan Duc Nhat Minh (a 12th grade student) and Pham Cao Nguyen (an 11th grade student) both from the University of Science School for Gifted students, Vietnam National University-Hanoi.

Tran Tan Phat, a 12th grade student from the School for Gifted students, Vietnam National University-Ho Chi Minh city, brought home a silver medal.

Meanwhile Le Quang Tuan, a 11th grade student, from School for Gifted students under the Hanoi National University of Education, bagged his bronze medal.

In the medal tally, Vietnam ranked 7th, in its best performance since 2000.

Delegations from the host, the US and China each bagged three golds./.
