Vietnamese young scientists gathered in Korea

The third annual conference of Vietnamese young scientists (ACVYS 2016) has taken place in Chung Ang University, Seoul, Korea.

This conference was held by the Vietnamese Students’ Association in Korea  in collaboration with Vietnamese Students’ Association in Chung Ang University under auspices of Vietnamese Embassy in Korea and Office of Science and Technology in Korea - Ministry of Science and Technology.

Participants discussed different topics, including life science, biological medicine, chemistry, civil and environmental engineering, IT, electronics and telecommunications, mechanical engineering, physics and materials science, economics and social science, East sea, maritime law, conventions.

Tran Anh Vu -  Deputy Chief of Vietnamese Embassy in Korea said that the event provided good environment for the fellows, researchers and Vietnamese overseas students in Korea in order to update new information about the technological development policy in Vietnam. The researchers and fellows have many contribution for the science and technology fields, such as participate in the fund rising, provide the machine that turns humidity into drinking water, the project of introducing hydroponic as an effective way to help growing vegetable with less water and water-saving for the soldiers in Spratly islands. He hoped that in the future, the community of fellows and overseas students studying in Korea contributed more excellent researches for the general development of the country.

In addition, to provide the best conditions to overseas students and researcher, the government have been improving the science and technology environment by Resolution 20 about the development of science and technology, this is the effective policy timely to support and create new environment for the development.

In recently, Vietnam and Korea have cooperated and established Vietnam and Korea Institute of Science (VKIS). The Deputy Chief of Vietnam Embassy in Korea believed that was the advantage environment for overseas students and researchers to have the opportunity to work in their hometown after graduated. He hoped that they would update the science and technology policy by themselves so as to support for their researches more practical and effective.
