As many as 1,000 hearing aid machines and medical treatment worth some VND10 billion were presented to hearing-impaired patients to help them have happier lives.

The support was carried out by VinaCapital Foundation, in collaboration with Starkey Hearing Foundation and Da Nang Volunteer, on May 1st-2nd.
Accordingly, doctors from Starkey Hearing Foundation installed hearing aid machines for 1,000 disadvantaged patients who come from central and Central Highlands localities of Quang Binh, Quang Tri, Thua Thien - Hue, Da Nang, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai, Gia Lai and some other localities.
During the program, patients were provided with information on hearing impairment and received medical check-ups and medicine for ear diseases.
In 2017, the program is expected to present an additional 900 hearing aid machines to poor people in Ho Chi Minh city and Hanoi.
There are some 360 million people suffering from reduced hearing, mainly living in developing countries. At least 3% of them cannot afford hearing aid machines or access to necessary medical services./.
