Development of new style rural areas promoted in Lai Chau province

Years after the implementation of the program on building new style rural areas, 15 of 96 communes in the northern mountainous province of Lai Chau have met the standard of the program.

Besides geographic and land advantages, the results have been brought about thanks to joint efforts of the whole political system and people. As a result, there has been positive change in rural life, with the poverty rate reduced to 20.48%.

In the 2016-2020 period, the province will strive to help an additional 6 communes meet the standards of the new style rural program.
