Gia Lai: Young people builds thousands of works for rural areas

Over the past five years, implementing the campaign “Young people in Gia Lai province join hands in building new style rural areas”, the young people have worked with authorities to carry out diverse programs and constructions, helping address difficulties in building new style rural areas.

The information was announced during a meeting to review the campaign, held on September 26
th by the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union in the Central Highlands province.
According to the provincial Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union, its branches have used oral dissemination about the building of new style rural areas through art performances, panels and posters; and introduced good ways of production, as well as outstanding individuals.
Besides, young people have built over 1,800 works worth over VND30 billion; notably, building 120 charitable houses, repairing over 50 houses for disadvantaged families, repairing 87 traditional Rong houses, upgrading 630 kilometres of irrigation canals, and planting over 25,000 trees.Meanwhile, members of the union have worked with the Department of Economics and the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development at the district level to organise over 400 training courses in agricultural production promotion for nearly 130,000 other members and local residents.
In another attempt, 29 socio-economic development models have been developed, creating more jobs and increasing income for labourers./.
