With the expected number of workers higher than in 2017, the city has mobilized resources from businesses, organizations and individuals to support the program.

Disadvantaged trade union members and workers from businesses, especially workers from export processing and industrial zones as well as from textile and garment businesses, will benefit from the program, according to Dang Thi Phuong Hoa, Deputy Chairwoman of the city Confederation of Labor.

Some 1,400 laborers from the export processing and industrial zone trade union and the Hanoi textile and garment sector trade union are beneficiaries of the program.

The Hanoi Transport and Services Corporation (Transerco) will operate 10 trips from businesses and grass-roots trade unions, while the Hanoi traffic trade union covers 25 trips.

As planned, there will be three routes connecting Hanoi to Thanh Hoa, Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces.

Last year, Hanoi trade unions allocated nearly 650 trips carrying over 28,000 disadvantaged workers from export processing and industrial zones, and businesses home for Tet, besides practical activities ensuring that 100% of workers enjoy Tet.

Additionally, presents were provided for over 22,000 disadvantaged laborers worth over VND15.2 billion, and the city Confederation of Labor spent nearly VND5 billion supporting the repair or construction of 65 houses, allocating gifts to disadvantaged ones, and taking workers home for Tet./.
