Ho Chi Minh city issues program on thrift practice

The Ho Chi Minh city People’s Committee has issued a program on practicing thrift and prevent wastefulness in the 2016-2020 period, in an attempt to increase responsibility of agencies in managing and using State resources, effectively exploiting budget collection, and contributing to realizing socio-economic development targets.

In regular spending, the city aims to save at least 12% of expenses for conferences, workshops, receptions, meetings and anniversaries; save at least 15% of in-and-out delegations; check the use of budget in scientific and technological, educational and training and healthcare; and cut 100% of the organization of ground-breaking and inauguration ceremonies of basic construction works, except constructions holding great economic, political, cultural and social significance.
The city will also strive to save 10-15% of investment capital.
In the management and use of land and tenement houses, the city plans to revoke 100% of tenement houses that are not use properly; and houses and land that are hired no in accordance with regulations.
Agencies and district People’s Committees are responsible for reducing personnel by increasing working efficiency./.
