A photo set of street life in Hong Kong (China) in the 1950s and 1960s was taken by photographer Fan Ho, a master photographer in Asia. His photographs are published in his new book “Fan Ho: A Hong Kong memoir”.

After Ho moved to Hong Kong from Shanghai in 1949, he described Hong Kong
as a “fresh and interesting” space.

According to Ho, Hong Kong in the 1950s and 1960s
was a mix of Chinese traditional culture and the fresh culture of the West.

Ho’s photos show clearly the changes in Hong Kong over the past half century.
