Enhancing effectiveness of Lancang – Mekong media cooperation

Recently, more than 40 reporters and journalists from Cambodia, Myanmar, Laos, Thailand, and Vietnam, countries participating in the Mekong-Lancang cooperation mechanism, have had a field trip to Beijing, Guangdong and Yunnan of China.

The delegation visited the Guangzhou Automobile Group Co., Ltd. - GAC Group, a Chinese state-owned automobile manufacturer headquartered in Guangzhou, Guangxi province. Founded in 1954, GAC is currently the 5th largest automobile manufacturer in China, with sales volume of 2.144 million cars in 2021. The group produces and sells vehicles under the Trumpchi, Aion and Hycan brands, as well as joint venture brands such as GAC-Toyota, GAC-Honda and GAC-Mitsubishi. The group also manufactures electric vehicles and in 2021, it became the fourth-largest electric vehicle manufacturer in the Chinese market.

In 2016, the Kunming Depot Station was put into use. In October 2018, Kunming Group Co., Ltd. - China Railway began to expand and renovate the Kunming Depot Station. Up to now, this station has increased in number from 6 maintenance and repair lines and 37 preservation and storage lines to 10 maintenance and repair lines and 58 preservation and storage lines. After the upgrade, train operation, maintenance and storage capacity improved, and the Kunming Depot Station became the largest depot station in southwestern China.
