Famous German pianist to perform in Vietnam

Famous German pianist Mona Asuka Ott will perform at the 17th “Hennessy Concert” at the Hanoi Opera House on June 12, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced.

Born in Munich in 1991, Mona Asuka Ott became fascinated by music while still very young. When she was 4 years old, Mona was a guest performer in a music competition of Munich. At age of 11 she appeared on TV in a duet with late conductor Marcello Viotti and a Munich Radio Symphony Orchestra, playing “Ma mère l’oy by Ravel”.

Mona’s solo show at the Ruhr Piano Festival in 2008 was applauded by the audience. Mona performed for the first time with an orchestra when she was 13 years old, at the “Junge Meister” International Piano Festival in Lindau. After this debut, she quickly received invitations to perform with many orchestras. She has also performed solo at many prestigious music festivals.

As a young artist she was awarded prizes including at the Grotrian Steinweg competition, music competition for young talents of Germany. In the fourth International Piano Trainers’ Association (EPTA) in Osijek, Croatia, she was presented with both First Prize and Special Awards, and was the youngest finalist in the 11th International Piano Academy Competition Hamamatsu, Japan in 2006.

At the 17th “Hennessy Concert”, the organizing board hopes that with the appearance of Mona Asuka Ott pianist, the audience will be filled with enthusiasm./.
