Opening and closing ceremonies of Vietnam film festival to be broadcast live

According to the Department of Cinema, the opening ceremony of the 18^th Vietnam film festival, to take place at 8pm on October 12, will be broadcast live on Vietnam Television's channel VTV1.

The awarding and closing ceremony will be broadcast on VTV2 at 8pm on October 15.

The 18^th Vietnamese film festival will take place in Ha Long city in the northern province of Quang Ninh from October 11-15.

A variety of activities including seminars, movie screenings and exchanges between producers and audience members will also be held during the festival, co-organised by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the provincial People’s Committee.

The festival is an opportunity to boost exchanges between local filmmakers and promote local cinematography, as well as honour outstanding filmmakers and encourage new talents./.
