The festival will be held from June 26-29 in Binh Lieu town, Binh Lieu district.
This year’s new feature is that the athletes are not only ethnic minority people but also Vietnamese Kinh ethnic minority people who are permanent residents in the mountainous communes of the province.
Besides four categories of hill running, stick pushing, crossbow shooting, ring-ball and folk games, as at the previous year’s event, this year adds the women’s and men’s tug-of-war event.
The festival is expected to lure the participation of masses of people from mountainous and border districts, as well as other locations around the province.
The event is part of the drive for all people to take physical exercise following the example of Great Uncle Ho’s campaign, thus contributing to cultivate a rich culture in the family, society, villages and improve the living standard of ethnic minority people in the nation’s remote and mountainous areas in the spirit of the resolution of the fifth plenum of the 8th Party Committee./.
