Coal sector players qualify for national officials’ badminton tour

Six badminton aces from state-run coal groups have qualified for the Labor Newspaper Cup at Hanoi’s Cau Giay district Sports Gymnasium.

The cup is a special competition held for officers and officials from state-run groups across the country. The qualifying round for Region IV attracted 148 male and female competitors from 17 central agencies, State-run Corporations and Groups under the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL).

The Vietnam Mineral Coal Trade Union delegation played in 3 categories.

Nguyen Thi Huyen Trang-Vu Thi Yen from Uong Bi Coal Company ranked 1^st in the double women’s event (the 20-30 age group) while Nguyen Ngoc Hanh-Nguyen Duc Can from the Mining Chemical Industry Corporation placed 2^nd in the double leader’s event (over 45) and Nghiem Dinh Oanh-Do Dinh Dai from Uong Bi Coal Company won 3^rd prize in the double men’s event (the 20-30 age group).

Athletes from coal sector are now practicing for the final round of the badminton tour to be held from July 11-15 at Vinh Yen city, Vinh Phuc province./.
