(CPV) - The national swimming age-group junior 2016 tour took place in Phu Tho swimming pool, No 215 Ly Thuong Kiet, ward 15, district 11, Ho Chi Minh city, from May 23rd-29th.
The tour attracted nearly 500 swimmers from 37 provinces/cities, for 12-13, 14-15 and 16-17 age-groups, seeing strong teams including Ho Chi Minh city, Quang Binh, Hanoi, Long An and An Giang.

For Ho Chi Minh city, the 15-year-old “little cetus” Nguyen Diep Phuong Tram demonstrated her professional skill by clearing 19 golds, including six new national records, thus helping the Southern hub rank top on the medal tally with 47 gold, 33 silver and 32 bronze.
Runners-up were Long An province with 14 gold, 14 silver and six bronze, and Central Quang Binh province with 14 gold, eight silver and one bronze.
The Quang Ninh delegation sent the best players from provincial diving, rescue and water sports training centre, pocketing four gold, six silver and five bronze medals.
Female swimmer Pham Thi Hai Yen bagged two golds in the 16-17 age-group’s 50m and 100m diving-fins event, while male swimmer Ngo Dinh Chuyen also won two golds in the 14-15 age group’s 50m and 100m (swimming free-style)./.
