Can Tho to carry out Cai Rang floating market preservation project

The southern city of Can Tho will carry out a project on the preservation of Cai Rang floating market in 2016, said Vice Head of Can Tho city People’s Committee Le Van Tam.
Addressing the closing ceremony of Cai Rang floating market festival, Mr Le Van Tam asked Cai Rang district People’s Committee to complete and carry out the project.
The preservation will be conducted according to instructions of the city leaders and experts.

The preservation will strengthen this highlight tourist attraction, protect the outstanding cultural values of the market and provide means of subsistence for local people while meeting tourism demand for travel and gastronomy destination.
Can Tho city's strategy is to promote tourism to help the city maintain its status as a central city of the Mekong River Delta.
July 9th was selected as Cai Rang floating tourism day every year./.
