Second session of Dien Bien provincial People's Council term XIV (tenure 2016-2021)

On August 2nd, the second session of Dien Bien provincial People's Council term XIV (tenure 2016-2021), opened at the provincial Culture and Conference Centre.

During the session, the People's Council term XIV will consider and decide important contents such as the report on the implementation of socio-economic development plan and national defence and security in the first half of 2016; approve key tasks for socio-economic development, national defence and security for the second half; report on the implementation of budget in the first half, discuss key tasks and solutions for the budget for the second half; report on the provincial People’s Committee’s management in the first half, key tasks for the management for the second half; report on corruption prevention, thrift practice and waste prevention, law prevention, the settlement of complaints and accusation and voters’ proposals in the first half; and several reports of departments under the provincial People’s Council and sectors.

The session will also consider and approve three reports and draft resolution by the standing members of provincial People’s Council and seven reports and draft resolution by the standing members of provincial People’s Committee.

 

Addressing the opening ceremony, Lo Van Muon, Vice Secretary of Dien Bien provincial Party Committee and Chairman of Dien Bien provincial People’s Committee, asked participants to raise their responsibility, promote democracy, focus discussion and contribute ideas to contribute to the session’s success. He also asked heads of departments, committees and agencies to define responsibility and clarify issues of concern at the question-answer part to meet the expectations of local people and voters.

The session will run until August 4th./.
