Kazakhstan was crowned the champions of the Asian Women’s Beach Volleyball Championship after defeating Thailand 2-0 on May 1st.

As the winners, Nikitina Tatyana and Samalikova Bakhtygul from Kazakhstan were awarded 3,000 USD while Thai duo received USD2,250.
Other team from Thailand came third of the tourney with a 2-1 win over Vanuatu.
The tournament drew 20 teams from 11 countries and territories such as Australia, Hong Kong (China), Indonesia, Kazakhstan, Japan, New Zealand, Singapore, Thailand, China, Vanuatu and Vietnam.
They were divided into four groups and competed in a round-robin format.
The tourney’s total prize was worth USD15,000.
According to the Vietnam Sports Administration (VSA), the event, jointly held by the VSA and Can Tho city’s Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, aimed to enhance athletes’ professional skills and create opportunities for them to exchange competing experience./.
