The event is an opportunity for local people to study objects and documents relating to Vietnam’s sovereignty over the two archipelagos.

The exhibits include 171 documents in Nom (Vietnamese ideographic script) issued by Vietnamese Feudal States from the 16th to 19th centuries, particularly those from the Nguyen Dynasty, which show that Vietnam established and exercised sovereignty early over Hoang Sa and Truong Sa.

Administrative documents issued between 1954 and 1975 under the South Vietnam Government at the time also affirmed the country’s establishment, exercise and protection of its sovereignty over the archipelagos.

Visitors can also enjoy 65 maps certifying that the Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagos belong to Vietnam, published by Western nations since the 17th century.

The exhibition will run until April 14th./.
