Record on number of persons singing national anthem in Ly Son island set

Ly Son island district has organized the first Ly Son cultural-tourism week 2018, including an activity of a crowd of 3,000 singing the national anthem and standing in line to form a 45m x 25m national flag in the island.

The activity set national records of the number of persons singing the national anthem and forming the national flag.
The week under the theme "Ly Son - A tradition, an identity" is taking in the central province of Quang Ngai from June 29th to July 3rd, aiming to contribute to preserving and promoting traditional culture, popularizing the image and beauty of local people to domestic and foreign tourists.
The district also held a special exhibition titled "Ly Son - sea and islands cultural heritage”, a boat racing, music festival, special food night market.
To pay tribute to the men enlisted in the flotilla, “Le khao le the linh Hoang Sa” was observed through hundreds of years by families in Ly Son island and many coastal areas in Quang Ngai. The festival, which is held every March 18th, 19th, and 20th of the third lunar month, was recognised as part of the national intangible cultural heritage by the State in 2016.
It reflects Vietnam’s history of protecting the national sovereignty in the East Sea, especially over Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagos./.
