Exhibition on Hoang Sa and Truong Sa in Bac Kan

Bac Kan provincial Department of Information and Communications on July 23rd coordinated with Bach Thong district People’s Committee held an exhibition affirming Vietnam’s sovereignty over Hoang Sa (Paracel) and Truong Sa (Spratly) archipelagoes.

Titled “Vietnam’s Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagoes - Historical and legal evidence”, the exhibition displayed more than 130 documents, publications, items, and maps collected by domestic and foreign researchers on Vietnam’s sovereignty over the two archipelagos.
They include transcribed versions of the original Chinese - Vietnamese and French documents published by Vietnamese feudal regimes, the French government in Indochina, and several western publications from the 17th to the 20th century.
In addition, documents of the Nguyen Dynasty regarding Vietnam’s exploitation, management, establishment, and exercise of its sovereignty over Hoang Sa and Truong Sa are also exhibited.
Visitors have chance to understand the importance of the sea and islands and nurtures the patriotic tradition, spirit of solidarity, and responsibility of the people, thus contributing to protecting of the nation’s sovereignty over sea and islands.
The exhibition will run until July 25th./.
