200 writers, poets and translators attend Ha Long International Poetry Night

In the framework of the 3rd International Poetry Festival and the 17th Vietnam Poetry Day, on February 18th, the “Ha Long International Poetry Night” program took place in the northern province of Quang Ninh.

The event drew nearly 200 poets, writers and translators from 46 countries and territories. Many international poets performed their works on Vietnam and its people, especially President Ho Chi Minh.
The Vietnam Poetry Day is taking place in Hanoi, Quang Ninh and Bac Giang provinces from February 16th to 21st. Accordingly, many exchanges between Vietnamese poem lovers and foreign poets, and exhibitions on life and career of great poets have been arranged.
The day is expected to contribute to promoting friendship among countries.
The Vietnam Writers Association has established a translation centre, which is building a long-term plan for translating Vietnam’s literary and poetry works into English as an intermediary to translate other languages./.
