Festival introduces northwestern ethnic culture

Traditional cultural values of ethnic communities in northwestern Vietnam are being introduced at the 14th culture, sports and tourism of ethnic groups in the region 2019 which opened in Son La province on August 18th.

Mong ethnic culture in Yen Bai province to be introduced in Hanoi

The event drew the participation of more than 1,000 artisans, artists, amateur athletes and people of ethnic groups from seven northwestern provinces. It aims to honour the special traditional cultural values of ethnic groups in the region and is an opportunity to share experience in cultural preservation and promotion and strengthen the great national unity bloc.

Vice Chairman of Son La provincial People’s Committee Pham Van Thuy said the festival also aims to realise Resolution No.33-NQ/TW by the 11th Party Central Committee on building and developing Vietnamese culture and people to meet the requirements of national sustainable development.

The traditional customs, crafts, farm tools, as well as special foods of the communities are introduced. As many of 280 photos on natural landscapes and diverse cultural identities of local ethnic groups are on display at the event.

The closing ceremony will be organised at 8pm on August 20th.
