The masterpiece of “The Tale of Kieu” by the great poet Nguyen Du will be adapted into a musical theatre production for the first time by French artists during performances in Ho Chi Minh city on September 20th and 21st and in Hanoi on September 25th.

Titled “Kim Van Kieu” directed by French director Christophe Thiry, the performance will feature professional opera singers and artists from Paris-based L'Attrape Théâtre. It will offer the audience fresh experimental experiences by blending various genres of opera, pop, theatre play, and performances of musical instruments including violin, guitar and piano.
Vietnamese musicians Mai Thanh Son and Mai Thanh Nam to participate in the performance
The audiences will also be entertained with Vietnamese traditional music through performances of Vietnamese musicians Mai Thanh Son and Mai Thanh Nam.

The performance will take place at Ho Chi Minh city Center for Literature and Arts at No.81 Tran Quoc Thao street, district 3, and Idecaf Drama Theatre at No.28 Le Thanh Ton street, district 1, and then at the French Cultural Centre in Hanoi (L’Espace) at No.24 Trang Tien street, Hoan Kiem district.
The performance was successful held in Paris with five nights in June 2017 and was appreciated./.
