The Hanoi City Department of Culture and Sports has launched a singing contest to mark the 66th anniversary of capital liberation and 1010 years of Thang Long – Hanoi.

Held every two years, the contest is for all people living, studying or working in Hanoi.
It aims to encourage cultural and arts activities among the masses; find and foster artistic talents; and create a useful playground for lovers for arts in the capital, especially the youth.
Contestants will perform new songs praising the Party, President Ho Chi Minh, Hanoi, the beauty of the country and Vietnamese people. The preliminary round will select 60 candidates for the semi-final, which is expected to take place in September 2020.
The awards of the contest will include one First Prize, two Second Prizes, three Third Prizes, one Prize for contestants who sing the best song about Hanoi, and four Consolation Prizes./.
