Promoting Vietnamese culture in the international arena

The event drew the participation of Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Dang Minh Khoi and 26 Chiefs of Vietnamese representative offices abroad.

Presenting the foreign affairs situation of Culture, Sports and Tourism in the recent years, Ms. Nguyen Phuong Hoa, Director of the Department of International Cooperation, Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said that in the 2016-2019 period, Vietnam signed 46 documents and agreements.  

The ministry’s international cooperation with countries with traditional diplomatic relations such as China, Laos and Cuba have been continuously promoted. Vietnam is still negotiating to sign many agreements and cooperation minutes with Indonesia, Thailand and many other countries.

Ms. Hoa also added that Vietnam's foreign activities on tourism culture are always designed to suit the tastes of the international public. Overseas Vietnamese performing arts programs always focus on promoting our country's traditional beauty, having contemporary features and being close to international friends. Vietnam tourism and cultural festivals in Japan and the Republic of Korea always receive great support from the people of the two countries.

On the side of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Deputy Minister Dang Minh Khoi said that Chiefs of Vietnamese representative offices abroad in this term were all diplomats with high professional qualifications. In which, many comrades were assigned tasks in countries that Vietnam had strategic cooperation relations on tourism culture. The Deputy Minister also said that one of the key tasks that the Ambassadors will have to do in the future is to promote international cooperation on tourism culture between Vietnam and many countries.

Speaking at the meeting, Minister Nguyen Ngoc Thien appreciated the coordination between the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and relevant agencies in promoting Vietnamese culture to the world. Through this, the Minister also suggested that in the new working term, diplomats continue to promote Vietnamese culture in the international arena./.
