20 foreign art troupes to participate in Hanoi international puppetry festival

20 art troupes from across the world, including those from China, Japan, the UK, Germany, France, the United States, Cuba, and Vietnam, will participate in the international puppetry festival 2024 to take place in Hanoi in October.

The puppet troupes will perform alongside Vietnamese artists at the festival which aims to foster greater cooperation and cultural exchanges between Vietnam and other countries.
Local artists will be from the Vietnam Puppet Theater, Thang Long Water Puppet Theater, Hai Phong Puppet Art Troupe, Phuong Nam Art Theater in Ho Chi Minh City, and Dong Nai Art Theater.
The festival is expected to serve as a platform to showcase the creativity, skill, and cultural features of each participating nation.
Most notably, their performances have never previously won prizes in international festivals held in Vietnam.
Different types of shows, including water puppets, shadow puppets, and stick puppets in order to entertain spectators, will be held./.
