Diverse activities to be held during Mid-autumn festival in Hanoi’s Old Quarter

Diverse activities such as exhibitions, decorations, and folk games will be held during the traditional mid-autumn festival in Hanoi’s Old Quarter from September 6 to 15.

An opening ceremony of the festival took place on September 6 at Phung Hung mural street, which is one of the most interesting tourist attractions in Hanoi.
Visitors can contemplate a range of beautiful street murals showcasing the long-standing culture of the capital whilst enjoying the mid-autumn festive atmosphere between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. from Mondays to Thursdays, as well as from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. on weekends.
In addition, an exhibition on the ancient mid-autumn festival is taking place at the Hanoi Old Quarter Cultural Exchange Centre at 50 Dao Duy Tu street in Hoan Kiem district.
Visitors to the center from September 9 to 15 also have an opportunity to experience making star-shaped lanterns and traditional cakes under the guidance of artisans from craft villages in Hanoi and neighbouring areas.
In particular, mid-autumn festival celebrations of Hanoi families from the old times were recreated at the Heritage House at 87 Ma May street in Hoan Kiem district from September 6 to 9.
At the Center for Culture and Art No.22 Hang Buom street, a moon-themed fine arts exhibition by painter Le Thiet Cuong and a puppet show will be organized on September 15./.
