Diverse cultural activities to mark National Day

Diverse cultural and artistic activities will take place in Hanoi to mark as part of efforts to mark the 79th anniversary of the National Day of Vietnam (September 2, 1945-2024).

The municipal Department of Tourism, working in collaboration with the Thang Long Heritage Conservation Centre Hanoi and the Dinh Lang Viet (Vietnamese Communal Houses) Club, will organise the “Ao Dai connecting Hanoi tourism and heritage 2024” programme.

The scheme will take place from 5:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. on September 1 on several streets around Ba Dinh, Hoan Kiem, and Long Bien districts.

Calligraphic works will be displayed at an exhibition at the Temple of Literature from August 31 to September 25.

The free puppet shows at the Thang Long Imperial Citadel on September 1 and September 2 are expected to bring wonderful experiences for both locals and foreign tourists to enjoy.

The Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism will introduce a typical highland market session in Hanoi’s outlying district of Son Tay during the upcoming four-day holiday marking the country’s 79th National Day on September 2.

A model of a typical highland market session will be erected introducing a range of specialties from the northwest and northeast regions across 50 booths.

On September 1, at the Ancient Quarter Heritage Information Center at Quan De Temple at 28 Hang Buom Street, a workshop on making traditional mid-autumn lanterns will be held under the instruction of Artisan Nguyen Van Quyen.

On the evenings of August 30 - 31, September 1 - 3, many cultural and artistic performances were held in the walking space of the Old Quarter such as: Traditional music performances at Quan Chuong Gate - Dong Xuan Ward; Van singing performance in front of Bach Ma Temple - 76 Hang Buom Street, Hang Buom Ward; Traditional music performance in front of Quan De Temple - 28 Hang Buom Street, Hang Buom Ward; Contemporary folk music performances at the Gia Ngu - Hang Be intersection, Hang Bac Ward; Contemporary music performances at the Gia Ngu - Dinh Liet - Hang Bac Ward Crossroads...

In addition, at the walking space of Hoan Kiem Lake and its vicinity, in the evenings, there will be instrumental music performances in front of the Hoan Kiem Lake Cultural Information Center  at 2 Le Thai To street; instrumental music performances at the Nha Tron Booth area; traditional folk music performances at the King Le Monument area.

Also on this occasion, agencies, units and individuals in the city will organize the decoration of flags, flowers and brilliant slogans to celebrate the 79th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Dayon the streets in the city./.
