During this year’s Tet holiday, many exciting and attractive events take place in Hanoi, luring numerous tourists. Typically, a painting exhibition "Drawing a Dragon" and the Hanoi Spring Calligraphy Festival are being held at the special national relic of Temple of Literature (Van Mieu - Quoc Tu Giam).
At the Vietnam National Village for Ethnic Culture and Tourism, the program “Spring Fragrance of the Northwest” is taking place with main activities such as: “Market days welcome Tet 2024”, “Spring comes to your village”, and spring folk games of the Northern ethnic groups.
At the Cultural and Arts Center, there will be an exhibition of Bat Trang ceramic products with the theme Dragon Pottery and a demonstration of Vietnamese calligraphy.
One of the highlight activities of this year’s Tet is an artistic light show with drone devices on New Year's Eve at West Lake. With the theme "One day of the capital - A thousand years of history", the drone show will be a unique light art work that encapsulates the quintessence of the land of Thang Long.
It will start from 23:30 p.m. on February 9 (the last night of the old year) to 12:30 a.m. on February 10 (the early morning of the 1st day of Tet) in the area of Nguyen Dinh Thi - Trich Sai street (near Van Cao intersection).

According to the Hanoi Department of Tourism, tourist attractions and areas in the city continue to organize vibrant and attractive cultural and artistic activities to attract tourists during the holiday such as: Special cultural and artistic program on New Year's Eve at Hoan Kiem Lake Cultural Information Center and traditional music performance activities in wards in Hanoi's Old Quarter from the 2nd day to the 5th day of Tet.
Besides, localities are also well prepared and ready to organize major festivals at the beginning of the Lunar New Year like: Huong Pagoda Festival, Giong Festival at Soc Temple; Co Loa traditional festival, Dong Da mound festival, Hai Ba Trung Temple festival, and Tan Vien Son Thanh festival.
In lunar January, the Hanoi Department of Tourism will preside and coordinate with units to organize the program “Hanoi Tourism Welcomes 2024” at Trinh Cong Son Pedestrian Street; Friendship Spring 2024 program in Soc Son district and Hanoi Tourism Festival at Thong Nhat Park. These are among an array of activities opening the Lunar New Year travel season the city tourism industry in 2024.
Director of Hanoi Department of Tourism Dang Huong Giang said that during the Tet holiday, inspection and supervision will be strengthened at tourist destinations and accommodation establishments.
